A Polish – German association. The winners of the 2nd World War – who met in Teheran, Yalta and Potsdam – designed a new configuration of many European borders. Poland was deprived of the eastern territories (so called “Kresy”) in favor of Stalin and was compensated with German territories in the West including Danzig and Silesia. The German population was expelled and replaced by Poles deported from the eastern lost territories. German minorities still live in some Polish cities.
